Leafy Celeriac "Verde da Taglio" - Apium graveolens var. secalinum.
Juicy, tender and aromatic. Rich in amino acids and vitamins. Table decoration and healing seasoning!
Vegetation period - 63 days.
Plants grow to be 40-50 cm tall.
Aromatic leaves are used for food. Consumed while still fresh or dried for seasoning dishes. May be harvested several times by cutting the whole plant. If the plants are cut to short, they may not regrow.
1 gram = 1800-2500 seeds.

* Since the seeds contain a lot of essential oils, they germinate with difficulty. To speed up germination, they need to be soaked in hot water (about +60°C) for a day. Change the water periodically - as soon as it cools to room temperature, drain and add hot water.
Another option is to soak the seeds in hydrogen peroxide: a few drops per glass of water. Leave for half an hour. This time is enough to wash off the essential oils.
After soaking, the seeds need to be laid out on thick paper and dried so that they become loose - this will make it easier to sow. Seeds are sown in boxes at a distance of 3 cm from each other.
The soil for growing seedlings should be light and nutritious. It is watered well, after which the seeds are scattered over the surface without sealing. The box is covered with cling film to maintain high humidity.
Before the emergence of seedlings, the soil should be constantly moist - this must be monitored. It is best to moisten it with a spray bottle with a fine spray so as not to wash away the seeds. They germinate at a temperature of +25°C, so the box should be kept in a warm place. The film should be removed once a day to ventilate the crops - otherwise mold may form. When the seedlings have their first true leaves, the film can be removed from the box completely. Keep the box warm for another week, and then move it to a cool and very light place. The optimal temperature for the growth of celery seedlings is about +15°C. In such conditions, the seedlings will be stocky. Otherwise, they will stretch out. Leaf celery is planted in open ground at the age of 70 days (but not earlier than mid-May) with a distance of 15-20 cm between plants.
This is the most unpretentious type of celery, with which there is practically no trouble when growing.
Watering: the only requirement for leaf celery is that the soil should be slightly moist all the time. To prevent water from evaporating too quickly after watering, it is useful to mulch the beds.
Fertilizers: if the soil is fertile, the area was fertilized with organic matter in the fall, you can do without fertilizing. On poor soils, it is enough to fertilize leaf celery 2 times.
1. 2 weeks after planting seedlings in open ground (if the seeds were sown directly in the beds - after a month): a solution of mullein diluted with water in a ratio of 1:10 or an infusion of chicken manure (1:25), the consumption rate is 10 liters per 1 sq. m (instead of them, you can use any organic fertilizer from those sold in garden centers according to the instructions).
2. A month after the first: the same fertilizers, in the same doses.
